Meaning of Indrakshi Stotram
- The Indrakshi Stotram is a powerful mantra dedicated to the Indrakshi Durga form of Goddess Parvati. It is said to help people avoid untimely death and live a healthy life.
- According to legend, Lord Narayana taught the Indrakshi Stotram to Sage Narada when Narada asked about a prayer to lead a disease-free life. Narada then taught the mantra to Indra, who taught it to Sage Purandara. Purandara popularized it among humans.
- The Indrakshi Stotram is considered to be very important among the thousands of chants and slokas available. It is said to be beneficial for the baby inside the mother's womb.
Indrakshi homam procedure
Through the prayer of Goddess Indrakshi, puja provides joy, happiness, tranquillity, peace, harmony, prosperity, and beauty.
Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh are all said to revere Goddess Indrakshi. She is described as the enchantress of the universe, the one who defeats the enemies, saves the innocent, the savior and the destroyer, the almighty goddess.
The Goddess is invoked by the recitation of mantras and strotras in Indrakshi Puja. She's decked up in finery and adorned with flowers and diamonds. Priests do Mantra Japas and her Shadopchar puja according to Vedic scriptures to seek her blessings. To satisfy Lord Agni and other Gods, homa is done at the end using sacrificial ghee (clarified butter) and havan samagri to pass on the prayers to Her.
Indrakshi Puja and Yagna includes Kalash Sthapana, Panchang Sthapana (Gauri Ganesh, Punyavachan, Shodash Matrika, Navgraha, Sarvotabhadra), 64 yogini Pujan, Shetrapal Pujan, Swasti Vachan, Sankalpa, Ganesh Pujan and Abhishek, Navgraha Pujan and chants of each planetary mantra, Invocation of major Gods and Goddesses in Kalash, Indrakshi Idols and yantra Pujan, Indrakshi Kavach and Strotra, Indrakshi mantra chanting, Havan, Aarti and Pushpaanjali.
